STORIES OF CONVICTS

Oleksandr Oshchepkov

In 1998, Oleksandr Oshchepkov was arrested on suspicion of murder of two people. He was being forced to make a full confession with the cruelest tortures, particularly, running electric current through genitals and puting a plastic bag over his head. To make sure he would not withdraw his evidence during the court hearings, his EARLOBES WERE CUT OFF just before the trial started.

During the investigation, the material evidence, which directly testified to his innocence, were destroyed. Nobody was held liable for that.

In 1999, Oleksandr Oshchepkov was sentenced to capital punishment, which was later replaced with life imprisonment, on the basis of full confession he had made under tortures. He has been servicing his sentence for about 18 years already.
